Det opplyser politiet på øya. De fire ble meldt savnet i bygda Nuugaatsiaq, som lørdag ble truffet av en tsunami utløst av et stort ras. Bølgen var så kraftig at elleve hus ble skyldt ut i fjorden ved Nuugaatsiaq på vestsiden av øya. Faren for nye skred har gjort det umulig å lete etter de savnede.

Trzęsienie ziemi o sile 4 stopni w skali Richtera oraz powstałe w jego wyniku tsunami uderzyły w zachodnie wybrzeże Grenlandii. Według wstępnych informacji 4 osoby są zaginione, a z kolejnymi 23 nie ma kontaktu. Ze względów bezpieczeństwa ewakuowano 78 osób. Z kolejnymi 23 nie ma w tej chwili kontaktu.

Najbardziej poszkodowani są mieszkańcy wysepki Nuugaatsiaq u zachodnich wybrzeży Grenlandii, zamieszkiwanej przez około 100 osób. To właśnie tę wyspę zalały fale tsunami i tam zaginęły 4 osoby. Nie ma kontaktu z 23 osobami. Obok czterech osób oficjalnie uznanych za zaginione, nie ma kontaktu z 23 innymi osobami. Policja nie uznaje tych ludzi za zaginionych, gdyż - jak tłumaczy - mogli oni udać się na ryby lub przebywać w innym miejscach na Grenlandii.
