  • Tropical Cyclone JERRY, formed over the North Atlantic Ocean on 17 September. On 19 September at 3.00 UTC, its centre was approximately 850 km north-east of Barbados, with maximum sustained winds of 102 km/h (tropical storm).
  • JERRY is forecast to strengthen, as it moves north-west. It will pass very close to the northern Leeward Islands on 20 September as a hurricane, bringing heavy rain and strong winds up to 140 km/h.
  • For the next 48 hours, moderate to heavy rain and strong winds are forecast over northern Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.

  • For the next 48 hours, moderate to heavy rain and strong winds are forecast across northern Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. A tropical storm watch is in effect for St. Maarten, St. Martin, St. Barthelemy, Saba and St. Eustatius Islands.
