  • Heavy rainfall related to post-tropical cyclone GABRIELLE has been affecting northern New Zealand, with extensive floodings and landslides. 
  • According to media reports, one person is missing in Muriwai after a landslide event and several residents have been isolated due to flooding in Hawke's Bay. Search and rescue operations are continuing, while damage to infrastructure has been reported across North Island. Power outages and communication disruptions have been affecting Hawke's Bay and Gisborne. 
  • There are 27 shelters and civil defense centres opened in Auckland, to host the affected population. A state of national emergency was declared for Northland, Auckland, Tairawhiti, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and Hawkes Bay.
  • On 14-15 February, strong winds, heavy rainfall, and high waves are forecast over northern and central New Zealand.
