  • An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 M, at a depth of 10 km, occurred off the coast of Lombok Island on 6 December at 1.02 UTC. The epicentre was 3.5 km west of Mataram City Regency and 10 km north-west of Mataram City. Strong shaking was felt by 638 000 people. As of 6 December at 8.00 UTC, there are no reported casualties or damage.
  • The earthquake was felt also in the island of Bali causing panic among residents and tourists but tsunami waves are not expected.
  • The national authorities and humanitarian actors are conducting initial assessments to ascertain damage or needs.
