A 5.6 magnitude earthquake was registered off the coast of Taiwan on Wednesday, Xinhua news agency reported. The earthquake struck at 9:08 a.m. local time (1:08 GMT) to the southeast of Taiwan with the epicenter at 20 km (12.4 miles) depth. No casualties were reported and no tsunami warning was issued.
