SYDNEY, April 17 (Reuters) - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 struck northwest of the South Pacific island nation of Vanuatu on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said. The quake was initially reported with a magnitude of 6.0 but was later downgraded by the USGS.

Un séisme de magnitude 5,7 a été enregistré dans l'archipel de Vanuatu peu avant 05h00 (HB) lundi matin, selon l'Institut de géophysique américain USGS. Le séisme été enregistré au nord-ouest de l'archipel situé dans l'océan Pacifique, à 250 kilomètres de l'île de Santo, la plus grande du pays.
