  • An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 M, at a depth of 36 km, occurred off the coast of central Chile on 5 December at 17.12 UTC. The epicentre was located less than 1 km west of Rocas de Santo Domingo town (San Antonio Province) and 9 km south-south-west of San Antonio City. Strong shaking was felt by 27 000 people.
  • As of 6 December at 8.00 UTC, there are no reported casualties or damage.
