  • Following the earthquake of magnitude 5.6 that occurred in Durres County (central coastal Albania), on 21 September, damage has been reported across central Albania. After the main event, at least 30 aftershocks have been felt in the area.
  • As of 23 September, there are at least 80 people injured, while approximately 375 buildings have been reportedly damaged (187 in Tirana County, 188 in Durres County). National authorities have set up evacuation camps to assist the affected population.
  • The EU Delegation in Albania is in touch with the national authorities and the ERCC continues to monitor the situation.
