  • After passing through Visayas, Southern Luzon and Mindoro Regions (central Philippines) on 6-8 November, Tropical Storm ETAU is moving westwards over South China Sea, and on 9 November, its center was located approximately 440 km east of Tuy Hoa (Phu Yien, central-south Vietnam), with maximum sustained wind of 65 km/h.
  • ETAU is forecast to strengthen as it makes landfall south of Tuy Hoa in the evening of 9 November, with maximum sustained wind up to 85 km/h. After that, ETAU is expected to weaken as it moves west, overland, reaching central-eastern Cambodia on the morning of 10 November.
  • On 9-12 November, heavy to very heavy rainfall and strong wind are expected for central-southern Provinces of Vietnam. Locally heavy rainfall is forecast over northern, and western Cambodia on 10-11 November.

  • Tropical Depression ETAU made landfall on the morning of 10 November over the northern coast of Khanh Hoa Province (central-south Vietnam), and on 10 November at 6.00 UTC its center was located approximately 40 km south-west of Nha Trang City, with maximum sustained winds of 56 km/h.
  • Heavy rainfall and strong winds have been reported across Khanh Hoa, and Phu Yen Provinces. National authorities planned evacuation operations for 403,426 coastal residents in the central-south. According to media several buildings and roads have been damaged by winds, while power outages occurred in Nha Trang, while many houses have been flooded in Tuy Hoa City (Phu Yen). Five airports in the central-south Provinces, and Central Highlands region have been closed.
  • ETAU is expected to weaken as it moves westwards over land, reaching Mondulkiri Province (eastern Cambodia) in the afternoon of 10 November, further dissipating on the morning of 11 November.
  • On 10-11 November, heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over the provinces of Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, and the Central Highlands Region (Vietnam), while in Cambodia, heavy rainfall with strong winds are forecast over northern-and eastern Provinces, including Mondulkiri.
