Former Hurricane Daniel has moved past the Hawaiian islands with minimal effect on the weather, and Tropical Storm Emilia, expected to reach the islands on Wednesday, isn't expected to have much of an impact, either.

The vestiges of Hurricane Daniel — now a remnant low-pressure system — began bringing higher surf to the east shores of Hawaii island Wednesday and could bring higher surf to the other islands, the National Weather Service said.
