A fast-moving typhoon packing winds of up to 126 kph was traveling north Wednesday over the Pacific near the Ogasawara Islands, the Meteorological Agency said. The agency warned of gusts and high tides through Thursday in areas near the expected path of Typhoon Maliksi along the Izu chain and the coast of the Kanto region.
