DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 100 AM ChST...1500 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Saola was

located near latitude 14.7 degrees North and longitude 139.0 degrees

East...moving west-northwest at 28 mph. Tropical Storm Saola is

expected to continue this motion through Friday before recurving to

the north on Saturday. Tropical Storm Saola has passed Guam and is

heading out into the open Philippine Sea.



Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph. Saola is forecast to

intensify slowly the next few days, and may become a typhoon by

Thursday. Tropical storm force winds extend out to 165 miles

southwest of the center, and up to 155 miles northeast of the center.
