DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 AM ChST...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Saola was

re-located near latitude 13.9 degrees North and longitude 135.6

degrees East...moving west at 28 mph. Tropical Storm Saola is

expected to turn gradually northwest today and Thursday, and north

on Friday before recurving to the northeast on Saturday.



Maximum sustained winds have decreased to about 40 mph. Saola is

forecast to intensify slowly the next few days, and may become a

typhoon Friday night or Saturday.



Tropical storm force winds extend out to 165 miles northeast of

the center, and up to 90 miles northwest of the center.
