China - Tropical Cyclones NESAT and HAITANG

Tropical Cyclone NESAT made landfall close to Yilan city (north-eastern Taiwan) on 29 July afternoon (UTC) as a Typhoon. It then made a second landfall close to Changle (Fuzhou, Fujian province) on 30 July early morning (UTC) as a Tropical Storm, before weakening and dissipating.
Local media reported, as of 31 July at 7.00 UTC, that over 80 000 people have been evacuated in Taiwan and Fujian province.
Local authorities report, as of 31 July at 01.00 UTC, that at least 120 people have been injured and over 12 000 people have been evacuated in Taiwan.

Another Tropical Cyclone named HAITANG made landfall between Kaohsiung and Pingtung cities as a Tropical Storm on 30 July before crossing the south-western counties of Taiwan. On 31 July morning (UTC), it made a second landfall close to Fuqing (Fujian province) as a Tropical Depression.
Over the next 24 hours, heavy rain and strong winds may affect several areas of Fujian and Jiangxi as well as western Taiwan counties.
The Central Weather Bureau of Taiwan has issued, as of 31 July at 7.00 UTC, an extremely heavy rain advisory and a strong wind advisory for several counties. The same area has been affected by Tropical Cyclone NESAT over 29-30 July.
