Australia - Tropical Cyclone TIFFANY, update

Tropical Cyclone TIFFANY has entered the Gulf of Carpentaria and is moving west, towards the northern Northern Territory. On 11 January at 0.00 UTC its centre was located about 80 km west off the western coast of Cape York Peninsula (Far North Queensland), and 400 km east of Groote Eylandt Island (Northern Territory), with maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h.
After the passage of TIFFANY, heavy rain and strong winds were reported by media across the Cape York Peninsula, where a number of people were injured and several others were rescued by local authorities.
TIFFANY is forecast to make landfall over the eastern coast of Northern Territory in the morning of 12 January, with maximum sustained winds up to 95 km/h. After that it will move westwards over the northern Northern Territory, further dissipating in the early morning of 13 January.
Warnings for strong winds have been issued for the eastern coast of the Northern Territory. On 11-12 January, heavy rain is expected over the Cape York Peninsula and northern Northern Territory.
