      <title>Philippines – Severe weather - UPDATE</title>
      <description>
		In the past few days SW Monsoon, enhanced by Tropical Cyclone TRAMI-13 (locally known as MARING), has caused heavy rains and floods in several areas of Luzon, including Metro &lt;strong&gt;Manila&lt;/strong&gt;. According to NDRRMC report (as of late 20 August, UTC), there were: 8 dead, 4 people missing, 41 injured, 1 060 094 people affected in 6 Regions (Region I, III, IV-A, IV-B, CAR, NCR) and 132 969 people were sheltered in 425 evacuation centers. &lt;br /&gt;
State of calamity was declared in three provinces (&lt;strong&gt;Bataan&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Cavite&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Laguna&lt;/strong&gt;), in three cities &lt;strong&gt;(San Fernardo&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Para&amp;ntilde;aque&lt;/strong&gt;, &lt;strong&gt;Muntinlupa&lt;/strong&gt;), in eight Municipalities and in two Barangays. &lt;br /&gt;
As of early 21 August (UTC), a yellow rainfall advisory was still in effect. &lt;br /&gt;

      <title>China – Tropical Cyclone TRAMI</title>
      <description>
		At 00h00 UTC 21 August, TRAMI-13 had a max sustained wind speed of 121 km/h (Typhoon), its center had passed &lt;strong&gt;Miyako&lt;/strong&gt; islands (&lt;strong&gt;Japan&lt;/strong&gt;) and it was located ca. 240 km E of the northern tip of &lt;strong&gt;Taiwan&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;br /&gt;
In the next 24h its center is forecast to move WNW, roughly keeping its strength, passing off the coast of the northern tip of &lt;strong&gt;Taiwan&lt;/strong&gt; on 21 August morning (UTC). It might reach the coast of &lt;strong&gt;Fujian&lt;/strong&gt; Province (&lt;strong&gt;China&lt;/strong&gt;) on 21 August evening (UTC); then it will move inland weakening.&lt;br /&gt;
On 21 and 22 August heavy rains and strong winds might affect northern &lt;strong&gt;Taiwan&lt;/strong&gt; Island, parts of the Chinese provinces of &lt;strong&gt;Fujian&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Zhejiang&lt;/strong&gt;. JRC calculations, using as input the data of 21 August 00h00 UTC, indicate a possible storm surge of the order of 1.0m in the coastal area N of &lt;strong&gt;Fuzhou&lt;/strong&gt; (&lt;strong&gt;Fujian&lt;/strong&gt; Province).&lt;br /&gt;
As of early 21 August (UTC), an Orange Typhoon Warning was in effect for the forecasted affected areas.

      <title>China – Tropical Cyclone TRAMI -13</title>
      <description>
		On 20 August, 00h00 UTC, Tropical Cyclone TRAMI-13 centre was located over the Philippine Sea, ca. 750 km SE of the northern coast of Taiwan and ca. 750 km NE&amp;nbsp; north-east island of Luzon. Its max. sust. wind speed was 101 km/h (Tropical Storm) and it was moving in a NW direction.&lt;br /&gt;
For the next 48h TRAMI-13 was forecasted to move NW and then turn W towards northern Taiwan, strengthening. It may approach Taiwan&amp;rsquo;s northern coast on 21 August, affecting the areas along its path with heavy rainfall and strong winds. JRC calculations indicate a possible storm surge of the order of 1.6-1.8m in the coastal area near the city of Fuzhou, Fujian province, SE China for 21 August evening UTC. &lt;br /&gt;
As of 20 August, the national authorities have issued a Yellow Warning of Typhoon. &lt;br /&gt;
