      <description>Este mapa ilustra Ã¡gua superficias detectadas por satÃ©lite nos distritos de Mossuril, Mogincual e LiÃºpo, ProvÃ­ncia de Nampula em MoÃ§ambique, no dia 15 de marÃ§o, 2022, as 05:10 hora local. Dentro da Ã¡rea analisada de cerca de 1485 km2, um total de 237 km2 aparece inundada. Baseado nos dados de populaÃ§Ã£o do Worldpop e na Ã¡guas superficiais, cerca de 22,620 pessoas estÃ£o potencialmente expostos ou vivem perto das Ã¡reas inundadas.Esto sao anÃ¡lises preliminar e ainda nÃ£o foram verificados no terreno. Por favor, envie comentÃ¡rios para o Centro de SatÃ©lites das NaÃ§Ãµes Unidas (UNOSAT).Nota importante: AnÃ¡lises de inundaÃ§Ã£oes a partir de imagens radar podem subestimar a presenÃ§a de Ã¡guas acumuladas em Ã¡reas construÃ­das e Ã¡reas de vegetaÃ§Ã£o densa devido Ã s propriedades de retrodifusÃ£o do sinal radar.</description>

      <title>Satellite detected water extents in Zambezia Province, Mozambique as of 15 March 2022</title>

      <description>This map illustrates satellite-detected surface waters in Maganja da Costa, Moaquival and Namacurra Districts,  Nampula Province, Mozambique as observed from a RCM-1 image acquired on 15 March 2022 at 05:10 local time. Within the analyzed area of about 1500 km2, about 237 km2 of lands appear to be flooded. Based on Worldpop population data and the detected surface waters, about 22,600 people are potentially exposed or living close to flooded areas.This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field. Please send ground feedback to United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT).Important note: Flood analysis from radar images may underestimate the presence of standing waters in built-up areas and densely vegetated areas due to backscattering properties of the radar signal.</description>
