Discussion and outlook

At 100 PM ChST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Noru was

located near latitude 23.5 degrees north and longitude 141.4 degrees

east, moving south-southwest at 9 mph. Nora is expected to turn

west-southwest tonight and slow its forward speed.



Maximum sustained winds remain at 70 mph. Noru is forecast to

strengthen slightly tonight, possibly becoming a typhoon by Monday

morning.
