WTAU01 ABRF 030654 IDQ20008 SECURITE OCEAN WIND WARNING FOR METAREA 10 Issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology Tropical Cyclone Warning Centre at 0654 UTC 3 APRIL 2026 GALE WARNING FOR NORTH EASTERN AREA SITUATION At 0600 UTC a Tropical Low was centred within 35 nautical miles of latitude nine decimal nine south (9.9S) longitude one hundred and fifty five decimal eight east (155.8E) Recent movement : north northeast at 5 knots Maximum winds : 25 knots Central pressure: 1000 hPa The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 30 to 42 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 90 nautical miles of the centre. FORECAST Maximum winds to 25 knots near the centre increasing to 40 knots by 0600 UTC 04 April. By 0600 UTC 04 April winds above 34 knots within 90 nautical miles of centre in northern quadrants rough seas and moderate swell. Forecast positions At 1800 UTC 03 April: Within 55 nautical miles of 9.5 south 155.7 east Central pressure 997 hPa. Winds to 30 knots near centre.
