HURRICANE FORCE WIND WARNING FOR NORTH EASTERN AREA

SITUATION
At 1800 UTC Severe Tropical Cyclone Maila was centred within 20 nautical miles
of
 latitude nine decimal eight south (9.8S)
 longitude one hundred and fifty six decimal zero east (156.0E)
Recent movement : east northeast at 5 knots
Maximum winds   : 80 knots
Central pressure: 963 hPa

AREA AFFECTED
Within 120 nautical miles in NE quadrant
  and within 100 nautical miles in SE quadrant
  and within 100 nautical miles in SW quadrant
  and within 130 nautical miles in NW quadrant.

FORECAST
Maximum winds to 80 knots near the centre increasing to 75 knots by 1800 UTC 07
April.

Winds above 64 knots within 40 nautical miles of centre with very high seas.

Winds above 48 knots within 60 nautical miles in NE quadrant
  and within 50 nautical miles in SE quadrant
  and within 50 nautical miles in SW quadrant
  and within 60 nautical miles in NW quadrant, with very rough seas and
moderate swell.

Winds above 34 knots within 120 nautical miles in NE quadrant
  and within 100 nautical miles in SE quadrant
