SITUATION At 0600 UTC a Tropical Low was centred within 30 nautical miles of latitude sixteen decimal seven south (16.7S) longitude one hundred and nineteen decimal six east (119.6E) Recent movement : south southwest at 7 knots Maximum winds : 40 knots Central pressure: 990 hPa The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 12 to 18 hours. AREA AFFECTED Within 70 nautical miles in SW quadrant FORECAST Maximum winds to 40 knots near the centre increasing to 45 knots by 0600 UTC 12 February. Winds above 34 knots within 70 nautical miles in SW quadrant extending to within 60 nautical miles in NW quadrant by 1200 UTC 11 February and then extending to within 80 nautical miles in the SE quadrant and within 60 nautical miles in the NE quadrant by 1800 UTC 11 February with very rough seas and moderate swell. Forecast positions At 1800 UTC 11 February: Within 50 nautical miles of 17.1 south 119.6 east Central pressure 988 hPa. Winds to 40 knots near centre. At 0600 UTC 12 February: Within 65 nautical miles of 17.8 south 119.6 east Central pressure 986 hPa. Winds to 45 knots near centre.
