A tropical storm warning means that tropical storm force winds of at least 39 mph are expected within 24 hours. SUMMARY OF 400 PM CHST...0600 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...11.6N 145.7E About 145 miles south-southeast of Guam About 180 miles south of Rota About 235 miles south of Tinian About 245 miles south of Saipan About 505 miles northwest of Chuuk About 535 miles east-northeast of Yap Maximum sustained winds...30 mph Present movement...WNW...305 degrees at 13 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 400 PM CHST...0600 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression 14W was located near Latitude 11.6 degrees North and Longitude 145.7 degrees East. 14W is moving west-northwest at about 13 mph. It is expected to make a turn toward the northwest with a slight increase in forward speed through Wednesday. This current forecast track sends 14W over or near Guam Wednesday morning. Maximum sustained winds are 30 mph. 14W is forecast to intensify through tonight and is expected to become a tropical storm overnight. Once to the northwest of Guam, 14W is expected to continue intensifying over the Philippine Sea.
