DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1000 PM CHST...1200 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression Nuri
was located near Latitude 11.2 degrees North and Longitude 138.1
degrees East. Nuri is moving east at 7 mph. It is expected to turn
toward the northeast with an increase in forward speed through
Thursday night, approaching the Marianas as it does.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 35 mph. Nuri is forecast to
intensify slightly by Thursday night and might become a tropical
storm.

The next scheduled advisory will be issued by the National
Weather Service at 200 AM ChST early Thursday morning followed by
an intermediate advisory at 500 AM ChST.
