Tropical Storm Warning issued for Polowat.

WATCHES AND WARNINGS
-------------------- 
A Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect for Fananu and Ulul in 
Chuuk State. Additionally, due to a strengthening system and slower 
movement, Polowat has been added to the Tropical Storm Warning. 

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions, 
including damaging winds of 39 to 73 mph, are expected within the 
next 48 hours. 

A Typhoon Watch is now in effect for Ulul in Chuuk State.  
A Typhoon Watch means that typhoon conditions, including 
winds of 74 mph or greater, are possible within 48 hours. 

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Chuuk in Chuuk State. A 
Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions, 
including damaging winds of 39 to 73 mph, are possible within the 
next 48 hours. 

Residents of Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan should carefully 
monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Sinlaku (04W).

DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Sinlaku
was located near Latitude 8.4 degrees North and Longitude
151.5 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving northwest at 3 mph. It is
expected to make a turn toward the west with a slight decrease in
forward speed through Saturday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 40 mph. Sinlaku is
forecast to intensify through tonight.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
105 miles.

An intermediate advisory will be issued by the National Weather
Service at 1100 AM ChST followed by the next scheduled advisory
at 200 PM ChST.
