WATCHES AND WARNINGS
--------------------
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Chuuk, Fananu, Ulul, 
and Polowat in Chuuk State. 

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions, 
including damaging winds of 39 to 73 mph, are occurring. 

A Typhoon Watch remains in effect for Ulul in Chuuk State.  

A Typhoon Watch means that typhoon conditions, including winds of 74
mph or greater, are possible within 48 hours. 

A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions, 
including damaging winds of 39 to 73 mph, are possible within the 
next 48 hours. 

Residents of Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan should carefully monitor 
the progress of Tropical Storm Sinlaku (04W).

DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 500 PM CHST...0700 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Sinlaku
was located near Latitude 8.2 degrees North and Longitude
151.0 degrees East. Sinlaku is moving west-southwest at 3 mph. It
is expected to make a turn toward the northwest with a slight
decrease in forward speed through Saturday, then increase by Sunday.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 45 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to 
intensify for the next several days, possibly becoming a typhoon 
Saturday evening.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
140 miles to the north and up to 80 miles to the south.

Weather Service at 700 PM ChST this evening followed by
an intermediate advisory at 200 AM ChST early Saturday morning.
