A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Chuuk and Ulul in Chuuk State. A Typhoon Watch remains in effect for Ulul in Chuuk State. A Typhoon Watch remains in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan. A Typhoon Warning means that typhoon conditions, including winds of 74 mph or more, are occurring. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions, including winds of 39 to 73 mph, are expected within 24 hours. A Typhoon Watch means that typhoon conditions, including winds of 74 mph or more, are possible within 48 hours. Sinlaku is moving northwest at 5 mph, likely signaling the beginning long-awaited slow departure out of Chuuk State. It is expected to maintain this general course with a slight increase in forward speed through Sunday as it heads toward the Marianas. Maximum sustained winds have increased to 90 mph. Sinlaku is forecast to intensify through Sunday night, potentially nearing the Marianas as a category 3 or 4 typhoon. Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 50 miles. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 185 miles.
