At 100 PM CHST...0300 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Shanshan
was located near Latitude 17.2 degrees North and Longitude
141.5 degrees East. Shanshan is moving west at 7 mph. It is
expected to make a turn toward the northwest with a slight
decrease in forward speed through Friday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 45 mph. Shanshan is
forecast to intensify through Friday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
45 miles.
