At 700 PM CHST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Shanshan
was located near Latitude 17.1 degrees North and Longitude
141.0 degrees East. Shanshan is moving west at 2 mph. It is
expected to make a turn toward the north-northwest with a slight
increase in forward speed through Friday.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 45 mph. Shanshan is forecast to
intensify through Friday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
75 miles.
