DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 PM CHST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Depression
Kong-rey was located near Latitude 15.5 degrees North and
Longitude 143.3 degrees East. Kong-rey is moving northwest at
21 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west-
northwest with a decrease in forward speed through Saturday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 35 mph. Kong-rey is
forecast to maintain this intensity through Saturday, and
then possibly becoming a tropical storm Sunday.
