CHANGES WITH THIS ADVISORY -------------------------- Tropical storm watches issued for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- A tropical storm watch is now in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions including winds of 39 mph or greater are possible as early as Tuesday night or Wednesday. SUMMARY OF 600 PM CHST...0800 UTC...INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------- Location...14.2N 152.3E About 445 miles east of Saipan About 450 miles east of Tinian About 470 miles east of Rota About 505 miles east of Guam Maximum sustained winds...40 mph Present movement...west-southwest...255 degrees at 12 mph DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 600 PM CHST...0800 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Man-yi was located near Latitude 14.2 degrees North and Longitude 152.3 degrees East. Man-yi is moving west-southwest at 12 mph. It is expected to make a slight turn toward the west with a slight decrease in forward speed through Tuesday. Based on this current forecast track Man-yi is expected to pass through the Marianas Tuesday night or Wednesday as a tropical storm. Maximum sustained winds remain at 40 mph. Man-yi is forecast to slowly intensify the next couple of days, including as it passes through the Marianas. Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 40 miles.
