Maximum sustained winds...40 mph
Present movement...west-northwest...300 degrees at 9 mph

DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm 16W was
located near Latitude 19.2 degrees North and Longitude 146.7 degrees
East. 16W is moving west-northwest at 9 mph. It is expected to
maintain this general course and speed through Saturday. The current
forecast track takes 16W just north of Maug this afternoon.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 40 mph. 16W is forecast
to intensify through Sunday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
60 miles to the southeast with no tropical storm force winds
elsewhere.
