DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 PM CHST...0900 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Podul was 
located near Latitude 20.8 degrees North and Longitude 144.7 degrees 
East. Podul is moving northwest at 10 mph. It is expected to make a 
slight turn toward the west-northwest Saturday and then westward 
Sunday with a slight increase in forward speed. Podul is now passing 
near Farallon de Pajaros and will begin pulling away from the far 
northern Mariana Islands.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased slightly to 45 mph, however, 
Podul is expected to begin intensifying later tonight and continue 
for the next few days. 

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to 60 
miles to the east with limited to no tropical storm winds west of the
center.
