DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Podul
was located near Latitude 21.6 degrees North and Longitude
140.4 degrees East. Podul is moving west at 9 mph. It is expected
to maintain this general course with a slight increase in forward
speed through Monday, continuing through the Philippine Sea.

Maximum sustained winds remain at 60 mph. Podul is forecast to
intensify through Monday, possibly becoming a typhoon Sunday 
night or Monday morning.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
105 miles.
