DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 700 AM CHST...2100 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm Podul 
was located near Latitude 21.5 degrees North and Longitude 139.6 
degrees East, well northwest of the Marianas. Podul is moving 
west through the Philippine Sea at 10 mph. It is expected to 
maintain this general course with an increase in forward speed 
through Monday.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 65 mph. Podul is 
forecast to intensify through Monday, possibly becoming a typhoon 
Sunday night or Monday morning.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
85 miles.
