Typhoon Warning is cancelled for Alamagan and Pagan along with the surrounding coastal waters. .AREAS AFFECTED... This local statement provides information and recommended action for people on Agrihan, Pagan, and Alamagan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas. .WATCHES/WARNINGS... Typhoon Warning is cancelled for Alamagan and Pagan along with the surrounding coastal waters. A Typhoon Warning remains in effect for Agrihan in the CNMI and the adjacent coastal waters. .STORM INFORMATION... At 1 AM ChST...the center of Typhoon Sinlaku (04W) was located near latitude 21.2N, longitude 146.4E. This was about 545 miles north of Guam, 420 miles north of Saipan, and 175 miles north of Agrihan. Storm motion was northeast, 25 degrees, at 10 mph. Storm intensity was 90 mph. .SITUATION OVERVIEW... Typhoon Sinlaku is moving north-northeast at 10 mph exiting the northern CNMI, to the northeast of Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan. It is expected to remain at this heading and forward speed over the next couple of days. As Sinlaku continues to push north-northeastward, tropical storm force winds are now north of Alamagan and Pagan, resulting in the cancellation of the Typhoon Warnings for both islands. Sinlaku is forecasted to continue to weaken over the next couple of days, possible becoming extratropical Sunday. .PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For those under a warning in the far northern Mariana Islands of Agrihan, preparations for the protection of life and property should have already been completed. People should be in a designated hardened shelter. Remain in shelter until the "all clear" is given. Stay inside and away from windows. Do not venture outside when high winds are occurring as flying debris can easily cause serious injury. Closely monitor NOAA weather radio or other local news outlets for official storm information. South to southwest winds of around 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph are possible through today as Sinlaku continues to move northeast and weaken. Dangerous surf of 13 to 19 feet along south, west and north facing reefs due to wind-driven waves and swell produced by Sinlaku will slowly subside over the next couple of days. Sinlaku is producing a fully developed northwest to north swell as well. Inundation of 2 to 4 feet is expected due to wind driven waves and large swell. .OTHER STORM EFFECTS... West tropical storm force winds of 40 to 50 mph with gusts to 65 mph are expected early this morning as Sinlaku moves northeast. Winds will decrease to 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph later this morning. Winds will continue to decrease as Sinlaku moves farther northeast. .COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION... Seas of 20 to 25 feet will be possible, with dangerous surf, significant coastal inundation and beach erosion. Inundation of 3 to 5 feet is possible, especially along south, west, and north facing shorelines. .OTHER STORM EFFECTS...
