Debby is forecast to continue moving north to north-northeast through late morning and make landfall across the eastern Florida Big Bend. Rain bands associated with Debby will continue to move across east central Florida Monday and Monday night. A trailing convective band is forecast to move toward Lake County and the I-4 corridor through the morning into the afternoon bringing locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds up to 45 to 55 mph. Locally higher rainfall totals will result from rain bands repeatedly moving over the same locations. Generally, 1 to 3 inches of rainfall are forecast with locally higher amounts of up to 3 to 5 inches possible in areas that see repeated showers and squalls. These rainfall amounts, along with instances of higher rainfall rates, will be capable of producing flooding in low-lying and urban areas. Ponding of water on roadways may also lead to hazardous driving conditions. Windy conditions are forecast Monday as Hurricane Debby moves toward the eastern Florida Big Bend. Rain bands and squalls associated with Debby will bring strong wind gusts up to 45 to 55 mph at times across east central Florida through Monday evening. The rain bands will be most numerous across Lake County Monday morning and expand into much of east central Florida through the afternoon hours. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect Lake County for the potential of frequent gusts to tropical storm force associated with Debby's rain bands today. In addition to strong wind gusts, a few tornadoes embedded in rain bands are possible through Monday afternoon. The highest risk of tornadoes will continue across northern portions of east central Florida into the afternoon hours. A Tornado Watch is in effect for central and northern portions of east central Florida through 8 am. Do not let your guard down, including locations east of the current Tropical Storm Watch. Impacts from this tropical cyclone will be experienced far from the center of the storm.
