An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 M at the depth of 12.6 km hit the island of Leyte (Eastern Visayas region, Leyte province) on 10 July at 1.41 UTC. The epicentre was located 9 kilometres southeast of Ormoc City (Leyte province) which counts a population of 215 031 people.
USGS PAGER estimates a shake up to "Strong" for 404 000 people and up to "Moderate' for 930 000 people.
As of 10 July at 7.30 (UTC), there are no immediate reports of casualties or damages from the earthquake.
The same area was hit by a stronger earthquake on the 6 July (6.5 M at the depth of 6.5 km), which caused the death of two people and damaged buildings and roads.
