      <title>Madagascar - Tropical Cyclone ENAWO UPDATE</title>

		&lt;ul&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Following the passage of Tropical Cyclone ENAWO, heavy rain, strong winds and storm surge have been affecting the country, causing casualties and damage. Approx. 189 mm of rain in 24 h have been recorded in Mananjary municipality and 153 mm of rain in 24 h have been recorded in Fort-Dauphin over 8-9 March.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;As of 10 March at 7.00 UTC, local media reported that the death toll has reached at least 22 people. They also reported several floods in Itasy, Analamanga, Vakinankaratra, Bongolava regions, affecting at least 2 624 people, as well as traffic disruptions throughout the affected areas.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Over the next 48 h, moderate to locally heavy rain may still affect the country. As of 10 March 7.00 UTC, Meteo Madagascar has issued a Red Alert for heavy rains in the regions of  Androy, Anosy and the districts of Befotaka, Iakora, Ampanihy, Benenitra, Vangaindrano, Midongy Atsimo and Taolagnaro, and a Red Alert for strong winds over central-western, south-western and south-eastern coastal areas. &lt;/li&gt;

      <title>Madagascar - Tropical Cyclone ENAWO UPDATE</title>
      <description>
		&lt;ul&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;Tropical Cyclone ENAWO continued moving west south-west over the south-western Indian Ocean and towards north-eastern Madagascar, strengthening. On 7 March at 6.00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 50 km north-east of Antalaha city (Antsiranana Province) and had max. sustained wind speed of 231 km/h. &lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;On 7 March morning (UTC), it is forecast to continue moving west south-west and make landfall close to Antalaha city as an intense Tropical Cyclone with max. sustained winds of 220 - 230 km/h. Heavy rain, storm surge and strong winds may affect the north-eastern and central-eastern areas of the country. JRC estimations indicate a max. storm surge height of 1.3 m along the coast of Helodrano Antongila Bay, on 7 March at 13.00 UTC.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;As of 7 March at 7.00 UTC, Meteo Madagascar has issued a Red Alert in several areas of Diana, Sava, Sofia, Analanjirofo, Alaotra-Mangoro, Atsinanana regions.&lt;/li&gt;
    &lt;li&gt;The Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) is closely monitoring the situation and is in a state of pre-alert, preparing in case of a request for assistance. Coordination meetings are being held with DG ECHO staff in the field. Selected EU experts will be requested to be on stand-by until the deployment of a European Union Civil Protection Team (EUCPT) is decided.&lt;br /&gt;
