Now a tropical storm and tropical depression, respectively, Hilda and Ignacio continued to weaken overnight in the East Pacific. Packing maximum sustained winds of 70 mph while moving northwest at 8 mph, Hilda was located ab0ut 2,000 miles east of Hilo at 5 a.m. today, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

As expected, Hurricane Hilda did not change in strength overnight. However, the former Tropical Depression Ten-E did strengthen to a tropical storm in the East Pacific. Clocking in with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph, Hilda was located about 2,155 miles east-southeast of Hilo as of 5 a.m.
