An earthquake occurred in the early hours of this morning at 1.43am in the Mediterranean Sea. The tremor which was registered by the seismic system at the Department of Physics within the University of Malta, registered 5.7 on the Richter scale. It occurred about 224 kms southwest of the Methoni region in Southern Greece .
