Homeland Security and Civil Defense are gearing up for Earthquake Preparedness Week. They plan to host web-based training and special media campaigns due to the pandemic. EPW is slated for Aug. 2-8, meant to commemorate the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Guam in August 1993.

The U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 that struck 61 km NNW of Dededo Village, Guam with a depth of 190.3 km, at 2:23 p.m. (ChST). There were no reports made to Guam 911 dispatch of damages or injuries from the earthquake.

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded 38 miles north-northwest of Dededo Wednesday, according to the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense. The quake, with a depth of 118 miles, was recorded at 2:23 p.m. There were no reports made to Guam 911 dispatch of damages or injuries from the earthquake.
