Event. A magnitude-4.8 earthquake occurred in the state of Oaxaca , southern Mexico , at around 09:55 June 22. The epicenter was about 74 km (46 miles) southwest of the city of Oaxaca. The tremor occurred at a depth of approximately 55 km (34 miles), and shaking was probably felt throughout Oaxaca State.
