Event. A magnitude-5.1 earthquake occurred offshore of Vanua Lava island at around 15:23 Sept. 19. The epicenter was about 48 km (30 miles) north-northwest of Sola. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles). Weak-to-light shaking probably occurred across northern Vanuatu , including Vanua Lava and parts of Espiritu Santo.

Event. A magnitude-5.8 earthquake occurred offshore of Vanua Lava island at around 21:28 Sept. 17. The epicenter was about 52 km (32 miles) north-northwest of Sola. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles) and produced strong shaking near the epicenter and other areas of Vanua Lava.
