Guam - Eight shelters have been opened for those seeking refuge from Typhoon Francisco . At 6pm Thursday evening 6 schools were opened as shelters, but two of the, Machananao Elementary and FBLG quickly filled to capacity so authorities opened Upi Elementary school to serve as a shelter as well.

Guam - National Weather Service Meteorologist Landon Aydlett tells PNC News that Typhoon Francisco made its closest Point of Approach to Guam at 6am Friday morning. At that time he says the Typhoon was 150 miles due west of the island and tracking west northwest. The maximum sustained winds were at 125 miels per hour.
