Wallis and Futuna: Magnitude-5.0 earthquake strikes offshore of Wallis and Futuna Feb. 19

Event. A magnitude-5.0 earthquake struck in the Pacific Ocean between Wallis and Futuna islands around 1610 Feb. 19. The epicenter was about 119 km (74 miles) south-southwest of Matu-Utu, Wallis and Futuna . The quake struck at a depth of 10 km (6 miles) and may have produced weak-to-light shaking in Wallis and Futuna.
