  • Yasur volcano, located in Tanna Island (southern Vanuatu), continues his activity that consists of ongoing explosions with gas plumes and volcanic ash.
  • According to the Vanuatu Meteorology and Geo-Hazards Department (VMGD) a Danger Zone of 600 m around the volcanic cone is in effect.

The Smithsonian/USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report provides information about global volcanism on a weekly basis. Latest Yasur report has been published on 22 Jul 2020 09:13.
Based on webcam images and satellite data the Wellington VAAC reported that on 19 July ash plumes from Yasur rose to 1.5 km (5,000 ft) a.s.l. Diffuse ash plumes rose to 1.2 km (4,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted NNE. Source: Wellington Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC)
