  • Heavy rainfall affected southern California state, western USA over 18-19 September, causing floods and flash floods and mudslides that have resulted in casualties and damage. The severe weather was also due to the remnants of the tropical storm MARIO, which passed over the Eastern Pacific Ocean near California on 17 September.
  • Media report, as of 22 September, one fatality and one injured person in the area of Barstow city, San Bernardino county, southern California.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall and thunderstorms are still forecast over parts of southern and central California.
