Cambodia, April 2021Local media in Cambodia reported severe storms and heavy rain caused flooding and damage in the provinces of Oddar Meanchey, Battambang and Pursat from 16 April 2021. 13 people were injured and 32 homes damaged in Kralanh village, Krakor District in Pursat province on 17 April. Damage was also reported in Phnom Kravanh district. Flooding was also reported in Pursat City on 19 April. No damage was reported however. 1 person died and another injured after lightning strike in Banteay Ampil district in Oddar Meanchey Province on 16 April. Areas of Chong Kal district were also affected. A total of 35 homes were damaged in the province. In Battambang province, rainstorms and lightning strikes were reported in Rotanak Mondol district on 16 April, damaging or destroying 30 houses. The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology said the severe weather in the country was a result of Typhoon Surigae which is moving north along the east coast of the Philippines. The Ministry reported heavy rainfall in other areas of the country over the last few days, including in Mondulkiri, Preah Vihear, Ratanakiri, Svay Rieng, Steung Treng and Kampong Thom provinces.Wed 21 Apr 2021FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
