Yemen, April to May 2021Yemen Meteorological Services reported on 02 May 2021 that heavy rain has affected large areas of the country over recent days in particular in Tarim, Hadramaut governorate where flooding had destroyed or damaged homes and roads. Local media reported 4 fatalities and 10 houses destroyed. Yemen Meteorological Services said that heavy rains had affected large areas of our country, including the governorates of Ab, Rima, Taiz, Hajj, Aden, Abin, Shabouh and some areas of Amhara. Media, quoting security officials, reported on 01 May that 13 people had died as a result of recent heavy rain across the country. Fatalities were reported in the provinces of Sanaa, Ibb, Shabwa and Hodeida. Note: As of 03 May, details of the situation were difficult to find. Associate Press said local officials were unauthorised to brief the media. Many local news agencies didn't reported the flooding.
