Tropical Storm Nicholas, USA, September 2021Storm Nicholas made landfall on the southeastern coast of Texas on 13 September 2021 as a Category 1 hurricane. Nicholas was later downgraded to a tropical storm, then tropical depression. Storm surge along the Texas coast caused some flooding in areas around Galveston. Some heavy rain was reported and as of 14 September a few rivers were high including the Taylor Bayou near Beaumont, TX, and the Vermillion at Lafayette and Calcasieu around Lake Charles in Louisiana. The storm also caused power outages. As of 14 September there were 490,000 without power in Texas and 130,000 in Louisiana. On 15 September heavy rain caused some flooding in parts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, making some roads impassable.Thu 16 Sep 2021FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
